Jim Dandy A Dark Horse on a Dark Day Book

Jim Dandy, A Dark Horse on a Dark Day is a children's book written by local author Maddy Zanetti and illustrated by local artist Gretchen Louise Tisch.

The story is based on the thoroughbred, Jim Dandy, who beat Triple Crown Winner Gallant Fox in the 1930 Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. Each page is filled with vibrant works of art. It is a twist on the real story of Jim Dandy and Gallant Fox many years ago. A little creative license was taken to incorporate Upset, the original Dark Horse, who inspired the book! Upset and Jim Dandy teach everyone to believe in themselves, even if they are the long shot!
